Description
Some argue that students need broad exposure to many of the classical analysis techniques when teaching structural analysis. In contrast, others believe that learners benefit more from the computer-based analysis experiences that include parametric studies. Structural Analysis, Understanding Behavior (PDF) strikes a balance between these perspectives. Engineering students may no longer need to know each classical technique but they still need a basic knowledge of the concepts from studying a subsection of classical methods. This foundation is then backed by structural analysis software in activities designed to promote self-discovery of structural ideas and behaviors. This textbook was developed with this aim in mind.
